The food was simple, without fuss, but really delicious. It's a friendly, welcoming place and great value for money. I highly recommend it if you can find a place to stay.

We arrived late after lunch, so they offered us lunch on the day we left. They also let us keep the car in their free parking lot until we left that evening. The food was excellent, with three first courses and three second courses to choose from, including a fish dish. The room was spacious with air conditioning, a balcony for smoking outside, and a roomy, spotless bathroom. It's near both the sea and the town center. If I return to Gatteo Mare, I'll definitely stay here again.

We couldn't have asked for more. The waiters were quick, so meals didn't drag on, and we could refill a water bottle with the free water to take to the beach. There are agreements with two beach resorts if you want an umbrella and lounger, plus free parking. We arrived in the evening, and the owner offered to arrange lunch for us on departure day and let us leave the car in her lot until we headed off that evening. It's a typical Romagna hotel close to the town center and just steps from the sea. Our room had two balconies, and the room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The food was excellent, with three first and three second courses to choose from, including one fish dish. They also had a standard hairdryer available if needed, definitely better than the ones you find elsewhere. Excellent value.

The price wasn't great, so I wasn't expecting luxury. I did expect basic cleanliness and kindness, though, and neither was there. The rooms and bathrooms were very poorly cleaned. The owners weren't welcoming or especially hospitable. Lunch and dinner times were very rigid, and arriving late meant a very limited buffet that was never replenished. Even the bread ran out. It was always hard and never fresh, and the food selection was truly poor.
