Antichi Sapori da Speranza

The food is simple, genuine, and really tasty. We had homemade jams and other homemade things at breakfast, after a delicious dinner. The whole property and the rooms were exceptionally clean. It's an old-fashioned farmhouse, warm and welcoming, with the feel of your grandparents' house in a small town's historic center. If you're happy with simplicity and good quality, and aren't too demanding, it's a lovely place to come back to.

We found the place unexpectedly while traveling for work, and got lucky. Giusi and her family made us feel at home and looked after us, especially through the food, with lots of authentic Sardinian dishes. Breakfast had excellent homemade cakes and jams too. I'll come back next time I'm in the area.

We were traveling by motorcycle, and the owner let us keep the bikes in the garage. The family runs the place wonderfully. Rooms are simple, comfortable, well equipped, and we slept well. The food was all homemade with high-quality ingredients, and excellent. They also sell their jams, which I recommend buying.

The view over old Gavoi and the mountains is breathtaking, and we'll definitely come back when it snows. The place is warm and welcoming, and Mrs. Speranza greeted us with a smile and showed us to a dining room decorated with farm tools and fresh local vegetables. It's close to the historic center, just a two-minute walk from the parish church of San Gavino or the main square. The spacious rooms are well furnished, with clean bathrooms and radiators, though you can only reach them by stairs. Breakfast was generous, with homemade soft cake, jam tart, biscuits, traditional Gavoi bread, and jams made on the owner's farm, all excellent. Local produce and other products are also for sale. Everything felt just right, from the friendly staff to the lovely setting.
