Castello Miramare

Breakfast was included and served in a private garden, which made this place feel like a real gem. Our room was large, with a king-size bed, and the bathroom had a nice shower. We also had a terrace looking out over the incredible sea. The hotel was made from a castle, and there's another terrace up top with views over the city and water. Simply stunning.

Getting there was difficult too, since it was very far from the city centre and parking nearby was hard to find, with a long wait to get in. The breakfast was poor and limited, and nowhere near worth what it cost. My single room booked through Booking.com had nothing to do with the pictures. It was basically a cell in the castle. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and I hope I never have an equal or worse one.

You can hear the sea even with the windows shut, since the hotel sits right on the beach, and the location is amazing. It's a real little castle, and you feel that throughout the place. It's not fancy and could really use some repairs. Breakfast on the small ground-floor terrace was nice. There's also a rooftop sun terrace with loungers, chairs, and more.

There was no elevator, and nobody offered to help carry the suitcases upstairs. The staff were grumpy and gossiped about us in Italian to other guests. Breakfast was very limited, and they were slow to refill things that had run out.
