That room was a welcome bit of calm after the bustle of Genoa. We stayed two nights in March 2025, and it was gorgeous, with white marble everywhere, a really firm bed, and an espresso machine. Check-in was straightforward, and Oscar’s CRM sent clear instructions. There were quite a lot of messages, though, so putting them together might make things less cluttered. Breakfast was the letdown. It was mostly packaged croissants, boxed juice, and toast so hard it seemed indestructible. The listing didn’t make that kind of breakfast clear, which felt misleading beside such a lovely room. If you’re fine finding breakfast elsewhere, it’s a very nice place to stay.

The lack of staff around made the stay feel impersonal to us. We never met the owners either. There was scaffolding around the building, blocking what might otherwise have been a nice view. Our first night was quiet, but later we could hear a family with children in the next room, and they were quite loud. One day the bed wasn’t made. The rooms were fairly clean, and breakfast was okay, just basic: packaged rolls, little jams and Nutella tubs, juice, and water. For the price, we expected more than this rather average, standard three-star place. There’s room to improve.

The room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Oscar was quick to respond, and the check-in directions were easy to follow. We liked seeing the STIGLER lift in such good condition, and could tell the building was being looked after, even with scaffolding at the front. It’s well placed for the marina, restaurants, and shops, with the historic center a short bus ride away. Breakfast was a letdown: plastic cutlery, cheap long-life food, and not even plates to eat from. We skipped it and went to the excellent bakery nearby. The fridge was also very loud at night. Still, it’s a great place to stay, and I’d be happy to forget the breakfast part.

The terrace was lovely, and we enjoyed the authentic building and ocean view. The place was clean and tidy, quiet, and easy to manage, with only a few rooms. We got lucky with a late check-in and the access instructions were clear. With just a couple of days there, it had what we needed. We did have to buy our own plastic wine cups, plates, and cutlery to eat a platter outside. The fridge has very little space, and there wasn’t much room for large suitcases, so it’s best for a short romantic stay. The shower was hard to close properly and tended to flood the bathroom. Towels weren’t replaced every day. Breakfast was cute, but on some mornings there were no coffee pods, so we had to go out for breakfast and coffee.
