Italy Inn

Gloria, who manages Italy Inn, was kind and accommodating, and I had a lovely three days there. There aren’t many rooms, but it was a wonderful stay. I’d definitely recommend it to tourists coming to experience Genova.

The woman running the place can’t speak English, but she made a real effort to understand me and explain what she needed. It’s a simple, clean, functional B&B with free WiFi and a basic but nice breakfast in the morning. I’d recommend it for a short visit, though it may feel too basic for a longer stay.

We drove about 100 km to Genova after booking a room through one of the popular apps, though I can’t remember which one. When we arrived at around 20:00, the door was locked. Someone answered the door phone but couldn’t speak a word of English or German, even after we asked repeatedly, then hung up. We called the listed number and got another Italian speaker who also didn’t understand English. They hung up after about a minute, then declined our calls. We had nowhere to sleep and drove through the night instead. As far as I know, the person who paid was refunded by the booking service. Absolutely don’t recommend this for English speakers. We travelled 100 km to a locked door because the staff were incompetent.

It was clean and in a good location, but the windows barely block any sound, so it gets very noisy, especially at night. The woman who runs the place was never available when we needed her. I don’t recommend it.
