Our balcony looked over the street and railway, but the trains didn't disturb us much. The room itself was spotless and, despite being decorated fairly recently, still had some character. The building is lovely, with old fashioned ironwork and a wooden gated elevator.

The host was kind and shared lots of useful tips, which made this a great B&B stay. Parking at the train station is easy enough, though the daily rate is quite high.

The rooms were comfortable and quiet, even with the building right beside the train station. The hosts were wonderful, and the area and location were both great. Definitely recommend it.

We had a great time and would happily stay at Palazzo Gropallo rooms again. Marina and her family welcomed us warmly and shared plenty of information about Genoa and the surrounding area. Our room had enough space for me, my wife, and our two kids, aged 2 and 4. Breakfast isn't offered anymore because of Coronavirus, but there were snacks and a coffee machine in the room. The apartment is near the station, supermarkets, shops, and restaurants, all within walking distance, and the WIFI worked well.

The host was super helpful. It's about a 10 minute walk uphill from Brignole Station, and the old city takes 20 to 30 minutes or more on foot.
