L'Antico Borgo

The food was fantastic.

We ended up having dinner at Antico Borgo twice, and both visits were lovely. We first found it while walking around Gerace with family, after passersby and my husband's local colleagues recommended it. Gerace is one of the prettiest villages I've ever seen, and this restaurant feels like a little gem within it. The garden beside the dining room has exposed stone and a spectacular view of distant villages lit up in the evening. We ate indoors the first night and had hoped to sit outside on August 15th, but strong winds meant we stayed inside again. That was fine: the old walls and lighting make the interior feel like stepping back in time, and it's beautiful inside as well as out. Even on a date when you might expect the staff to be stretched thin or less attentive, the young team looked after every need, guided by manager and owner Federica. The food, from the pizzas to the restaurant's other dishes, was full of flavor and made with quality ingredients. The place was impeccably clean, with details that feel worthy of a truly "CLASSY" restaurant. Five stars from me, and warm regards to Federica. Margherita & Martino from Taranto - Puglia

Friends who stayed last year had suggested this hotel, and I can see why. We had a wonderful visit: the rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were really friendly. The attached restaurant serves excellent food too. It's right in the centre of Gerace, one of Italy's most beautiful and visited villages. Highly recommend.

The pizza was very good, and the garden outside has a lovely view stretching all the way to the coast. I also tried the stuffed rabbit, though, and it was awful, raw inside and much too salty. The staff were friendly, but nothing came of my complaint about the dish. We waited a little longer than we'd have liked, and prices felt medium to high.
