Antico Palazzo

We felt right at home here thanks to the incredibly kind, friendly family. The location is fantastic, and breakfast was the best we had in Sicily.

I booked a week in July 2023 through the online booking website, four weeks before the holiday. The reservation was paid upfront and approved by the host. On the day of our flight, I messaged to confirm when we'd arrive. The host then cancelled the booking without a word of explanation and rejected my calls. Absolutely outrageous behavior. Be aware of this place.

We absolutely loved the Antico Palazzo Hotel in Giardini Naxos. The old building has so much character, and still feels incredibly cozy and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were delicious and homey, with great attention to detail, and everything is nearby, including the sea, restaurants, and promenades. Owner Antoneli and his family made us feel at home. His wife, Dasha, was always smiling and ready to help with questions, and his mother, Maria, welcomed us with such warmth and care that it felt like visiting family. The only downside is how hard it is to resist overeating at breakfast because it's so good. And with the sea so close, you'll want to go for a swim before you even wake up! This hotel is ideal if you value comfort and a warm atmosphere. True Sicilian hospitality with family warmth. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

I can't understand why Booking.com gives this amazing hotel 3 stars. I expected a 3-star place, but to me it felt like a 5-star hotel. My husband and I came from Catania Airport by bus, which runs every hour to Georgia Naxos. The fare is €6 per person, and the bus dropped us right by the hotel, just 2 meters from the stop. We were glad we hadn't rented a car yet. There's a lovely, very clean, free pebble beach just behind the hotel. You can pay for a sun lounger and umbrella further along the shore, about 50 meters away, but our own blanket was enough. The Ionian Sea was very warm. We stayed from September 14th. The room was spotless, with a good toilet and shower, a clean air conditioner with a strong draft, and a comfortable bed. They cleaned every day and used bleach. I eventually stopped wearing slippers in the room and even on the terrace. There's also a kitchen with a dining set and refrigerator outside the room, plus a terrace overlooking the city. My husband and I enjoyed wine there in the evenings. We booked breakfast, and each morning we looked forward to seeing what Antoinello, the hotel owner, would make. His breakfasts were delicious and filling, more than we could finish. We also started having dinner at the hotel bar. The food was delicious, portions were very large, and it cost even less than other restaurants. Antoinello's canole pastries were the best I've had from any bakery. Everything is made with natural ingredients, and they have a very good coffee machine that makes amazing coffee. You can ask them to make any dish you want. Antoinello is a real chef. His positive, wonderful wife, Daria, was another story. Ask her where to go, where to shop, or how to get around, and she'll explain everything and help you. They were both considerate and attentive. I learned later that they also have suites, and I understand some even have a terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is in the city center, with everything you need within walking distance. I wouldn't recommend renting a car. It's not expensive, but parking is €8 a day. We took the bus to Taormina for €2, and the ride took no more than 30 minutes. I've been to Italy before, but this is the first hotel in Sicily I want to return to. I hope I get to. P.S. Daria, all the flowers are growing! They've all taken root!
