Nike Hotel

The pool was nice, and the cleaning staff were great. One waitress served us throughout the vacation and I really appreciated her service. The hotel was quite pleasant, though dealing with the shower in our room was simply unbearable every time.

The bay views are lovely, and it’s about a ten minute walk to the center, but the hotel definitely doesn’t feel like four stars. There’s a garbage dump right out front. When it’s windy, the broken roof makes noises that wake you up. Service was below mediocre. The rooms were clean, but the bath soap wasn’t replaced each day even though we left tips on the bed daily. The bartender was often missing, and staff didn’t know how to make items listed on the small menu. Staff weren’t very helpful and seemed to avoid guests. Once, the receptionist spent ten minutes on the phone while we waited, apparently talking to a friend and thinking we couldn’t understand. Breakfast was just okay, with little choice and no changes. I ate an hour before it closed every day, and the bread basket was always empty. We had a day without water because the pump broke; maybe nothing could have been done sooner.

We booked three months ahead so we’d have a nice place for our vacation. After traveling from the United States, we arrived at Hotel NIke and were told they’d overbooked and were moving us to a lower-grade hotel. They wouldn’t refund any money for the change. Our taxi had already left, so we had to walk to the other hotel. We won’t stay at this hotel or any of its sister hotels again.

I loved my stay at Hotel Nike. The setting is great, tucked off a side street but still handy for buses, restaurants, the harbor, and town. The sea view rooms have beautiful views. The staff were attentive and made the experience feel personal, especially Dario. Marianne & Tania at the front desk seemed genuinely happy to see us each day, more like family than typical hotel staff. Highly recommend!
