B&B Secret Garden

Sara is incredibly friendly, and we loved sharing the garden with two sweet dogs and lots of cats. Secret Garden is a lovely place, with the tiny house beside the owner’s home and a big garden shared with her and her children, though we rarely saw them. The apartment is excellent: bathroom, kitchen, and a little sofa living area downstairs, then a fairly steep staircase up to the mezzanine bedroom and clothes storage. We parked in the enclosed private lot, which was very handy, and used the place as a base for trips to Bari and Matera. The beaches nearby were a bit disappointing, mostly rocky, though Bartella beach is beautiful. Giovinazzo itself is very nice, but weekend parking can be difficult.

We had a really pleasant two-night stay. The B&B is clean, nice, and welcoming, and Sara was very helpful. We were greeted by two lovely dogs and several friendly cats. It’s wonderfully quiet. The only small drawback is that, without a car, it’s a bit far from the historic center, around a 20-25 minute walk.

The garden was lovely and well looked after, and the house itself was both practical and welcoming. The owner was really helpful, and we had a great stay. There were two sweet, well-behaved dogs and some lovely kittens too. They kept to themselves unless you went over to them.

We appreciated the warm welcome and how clean everything was, but the noise made it hard to sleep. On a Sunday in mid-July, the owners carried on with a household job involving a hammer and other tools, well before 8:00 a.m. It felt like a real lack of consideration for guests.
