AQUA RESORT GIULIANOVA - Houseboat

Giulia Nova made for a wonderful stay. It felt like being a sea dog pulling into port without even having a boat, with floating homes and boats docked in the harbor. The patio was a lovely place to sit, especially at dusk, and the four of us had plenty of comfort. Bikes are included in the price, so we could leave the car behind and ride along the city’s huge bike path. A wonderful experience.

The owners and staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and check-in was easy with clear directions. We had a stroller and a 3-month-old baby and had no trouble with space or getting around. These floating houses are a really beautiful and unusual way to stay on the water. The house was clean and well furnished, and the temperature was comfortable at the end of May. The view was lovely, and the gentle rocking was barely noticeable and didn’t bother us. We enjoyed the outside platform in the morning and again relaxing there after dinner. Parking was very close, and beach service was just a few steps away at a well-kept establishment. That service was much appreciated. The Wi-Fi was a bit so-so, so anyone planning to work remotely should bring a hotspot. The whole experience is highly recommended.

A passing experience, I’d say. They call it a resort, and the location and welcoming setup are positives. Sleeping on the water was pleasant, and there are bikes for a nice ride while leaving the car behind. Breakfast, though, was just coffee and a croissant at a café, less than I expected. With a kitchen in the accommodation, maybe they could also provide single-serving packets of oil, vinegar, and salt. If I had to rate it, I’d give it a pass.

We spent a night in the boathouse and left a piece of our heart there. Sleeping by the sea is hard to put into words, and Glenda was incredibly kind and willing to grant our every wish. Giulianova was a lovely discovery too, from the waterfront to the historic center. What an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much.
