Petra the Receptionist gave us the warmest possible welcome, and we enjoyed every minute. Our room was really comfortable, the set dinner menu was delicious, and breakfast was great too. We’d had cabbage strudel as a starter for the first time, and it was very tasty, like every course. It’s a fabulous hotel in a beautiful walled city, which I believe is Europe’s smallest, nestled in the Alpine foothills. Although it’s in Italy, it could almost be Switzerland. This was our second stay, and we’ll stay longer next time. Highly recommended.

We had the fixed menu for dinner inside the property, and it was convenient, very tasty, and a lovely introduction to the region’s food, with several different dishes. The spa was a nice complimentary extra at the end of the stay. We were welcomed warmly from the start into an extremely nice, well-kept historic building.

I went for dinner and ordered an appetizer, a main, and a drink, making the order very clear. They brought the main course first, then the appetizer and my drink, so the food was cold by the time I could eat. They didn’t take the initiative to put it right. I guess it would have been good warm, and the bier probably had some foam earlier. Ice cream on the menu isn’t available if you’re sitting there, you have to go elsewhere to eat it. For the price, they should do much better, or at least apologize. The Wi-Fi is good, though. I’m writing this using it.

I slept well and really enjoyed the view. The sauna area was modern and comfortable, and the food was excellent. Gasthof Grüner Baum left us very impressed. It had everything for a great stay.

Only reviewing the restaurant. I think the waiters shouldn’t say "ich komme schnell" when we ended up waiting 25 minutes for food that was clearly microwaved.
