Breakfast was perfect, the hotel was spotless, and everyone on staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are really spacious, and the original furnishings have an old-fashioned charm. There’s a double door, so you won’t be disturbed by other guests, though I didn’t have that issue. It’s dog friendly and right next to the town centre. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve usually got a high tolerance for hotel standards, but this stay was close to unacceptable. The room had clearly seen better days, and its heaters stayed on full blast with no way to adjust them. Because of where the room was, opening a window wasn’t an option either. The sofas, chair cushions, walls, carpets, and breakfast tablecloth were dirty. At breakfast, the juice came in plastic cups, the silverware and salt shaker were dirty, and there was no bread at 7am when breakfast began. On my last morning I waited, and the bread rolls, which weren’t great anyway, finally came around 7:30. That’s especially unacceptable if you’re on a business trip and keeping to a schedule. I can’t understand the “good” reviews. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great big rooms, nicely furnished, with pleasant staff. The coffee and breakfast were tasty, but dinner wasn’t anything special.
