We spent a week in the Villa and had a fantastic stay. Roberto and Elena were lovely hosts. The Villa is spacious, with excellent views over the Chianti hills, and mixes traditional style with some modern touches. We also went mountain biking on the very steep hills.

Once you're there, you won't want to leave! Atop a hill with magnificent views over Chianti, Montefili is an ideal place for a week or two in summer. Roberto and Elena have turned an old farm into a wonderful place, with olive trees, a vineyard, lovely gardens full of aromatic lavender and all kinds of wildflowers, two swimming pools, a vegetable garden, fruit trees, and more. The old borgo is now a group of guest houses. Each has its own character and privacy, is beautifully decorated, and is surrounded by flowers and places to sit and enjoy the view and fresh air. The sunsets are amazing. Roberto and Elena take care of every detail to make you feel at home.

Montefili sits in a beautiful spot on the Chianti hills and is completely quiet. But the price doesn't match the service you get. The journey tax is charged separately and has to be paid in cash, something the website doesn't mention. I'd not recommend it to anyone who dislikes simpler, agricultural accommodation.
