Apartment Piazza Matteotti

The parking situation and what happened after our stay were the worst parts. I needed a car, but there was no free parking nearby, and the paid lot was far away. The area is pedestrian-only, so I paid for parking every day, hauled our bags, then climbed to the third floor. I told the owner I was unhappy and called Booking, but nothing could be sorted out at the time. Afterward, the apartment messaged to say the sofa was broken and a glass from the oven was missing, and asked us to pay for damage we hadn't caused. I don't know how the sofa got that way. When we arrived, the two cleaning ladies had unfolded it and covered it with blankets. We left the apartment as we found it, and we never used the stove or oven. Getting inside was another problem. The listing said check-in was available from 12 am, but they only let us in at 3:40 pm. When I called, they claimed no one normally arrived before 6 pm. That was a lie: check-in closed at 17:30, as the listing itself said. I was seven months pregnant and had to wait outside in 35-degree heat. I'd come to Chianti for work at a wedding starting at 4 pm, so there was no time to shower or change. I booked because the rating looked good and didn't notice that only 30-plus people had reviewed it. Huge disappointment. Avoid this place.
