The host was wonderfully friendly and attentive to every detail, and the renovated historic building is lovely. We enjoyed the whole stay, and honestly have never had such personal, genuine hospitality anywhere, from homestays in developing countries to Ritz Carltons. We wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll definitely be back.

The nature around the house is beautiful, and the building itself is full of historic details and has a character all its own. Simonnetta was so friendly, and made us a really tasty dinner and breakfast. A great fit for anyone who loves nature or historic buildings. Definitely recommend.

The owner is wonderfully kind and attentive, and the rooms have been recreated with great care. This place is quiet and well placed for exploring the lovely area and its food. The homemade breakfast comes with excellent coffee, as much as you like. It feels like stepping into an Agatha Christie or Conan Doyle story: a former stonemason’s house in an old quarry cut into the mountainside, faithfully rebuilt in a 19th-century Gothic style, perhaps inspired by nearby Rocchetta Mattei castle, a must-see extravagance. There are only three rooms and two bathrooms, so book well ahead. Highly recommended.

The owner is such a lovely, helpful person, and breakfast was excellent with plenty to eat. We spent one night in this beautiful spot among the green hills of Bologna, perfect for switching off and relaxing. There are lots of nearby places worth seeing, including La Scola village, Rocchetta Mattei, and Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Consolation in Montovolo. Highly recommended.

Simonetta welcomed us with so much care and a lovely, positive energy. The rooms are spotless and beautifully looked after, styled like a late 19th-century home. We had a wonderful stay. The place feels magical among the green chestnut groves, and breakfast is generous, organic, and full of homemade desserts. Highly recommend if you need a recharge.
