We stopped in for a quick bite on the way to Rome. The woman serving us was lovely, the pastries were tasty, and the atmosphere was nice. Then we spotted a whisky from Islay, Scotland, where we're from. Small world!

At 70-80 euros a night, I expected at least a decent room. This one looked like it was still being worked on: the bathroom mirror was broken, paint was peeling off the bathroom and bedroom walls from damp, and the headboard was stuck to the wall with cellophane tape. The doors and windows didn't have their lintels. There was only one set of towels for the two of us, and they even wanted us to pay the tourist tax a second time. It felt like highway robbery. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, despite the good location.

The room was new and comfortable. Parking was the one trouble, as we struggled to find a spot even with plenty of spaces along the street. Breakfast was simple, with giant croissants. Recommended.

I waited before writing this. My husband, our two girls, and I stayed one night on January 17th. The room was spacious and clean, but the shower was a real problem: my husband got in and it completely exploded. Luckily, the girls were in the room. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have charged us, but since they had my number, I expected at least an apology or a “how are you?” Sorry, but that’s not how it works.

The internal garden was lovely, and the room was clean. A decent place overall, though a few things need attention, like the bathroom door that wouldn’t close and the lack of supports.
