Pineta Azzurra

We came for holidays in both 2024 and 2025, and it was a pleasant, fairly standard stay. The location is great with a small child, and access to a beach restroom is included. The room itself is adequate. Compared with 2024, the mosquito net on the window was still leaky. The door was dark and awkward to open; one evening we struggled with it and called the emergency number, but nobody answered or called us back. Luckily, after about five minutes of trying, it opened. The sofa bed mattress also seemed more worn than the year before. With the big price increase since 2024, those issues make the quality feel much worse for the cost.

The location was excellent and the air conditioning worked. Staff also helped us by supplying the missing adapter for the induction stove. But Apartment 242 was poorly cleaned and smelled strongly musty, even in the upholstery. The bathroom taps and mosquito nets were in very bad shape too. The photos on the website showed a completely different apartment. In ours, the sleeping area was linked to the living space and bathroom by a narrow, steep spiral staircase, which was awkward. Luna Park was only 50 meters away, and the noise carried until midnight.

Being so close to the sea was the only good part. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. For a week in September, the apartment was filthy: hair on the floor, baked-on stains, sticky marks on the doors, and cigarette butts all over the garden. It looked like nobody had dusted in months. I found a previous guest’s towel in the closet, so the place clearly hadn’t been properly checked. I spent my first day cleaning other people’s mess instead of going to the beach. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and neither did the air conditioning. There were penguin screens in the rooms but no mosquito nets, apart from one on the front door that was torn and filthy, so opening the windows meant getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. The dustpan was broken, and exposed electrical wires stuck out of the floor. How could anyone hand over an apartment this dirty in 2025? It didn’t feel fair or respectful.

It was a peaceful stay, and the staff were always helpful and tried to meet our requests. The location near the marina market was convenient. I came away positive overall, though there are several things to sort out. With 20 apartments, there ought to be 20 parking spaces, but there aren't. It’s first come, first served, though if you wait a bit a space usually opens up. The parking is under pine trees, so pine needles, resin, and bird droppings leave the car really dirty. Bring a cover. The apartment and the green areas outside could have been cleaner. There wasn’t even a bar of soap or roll of toilet paper for us, just what I assume previous guests had left. Prices in this small seaside town seem generally too high, so I’d bring as much as possible from home, though that’s not the residence’s fault.
