Villa Val delle Vigne

We had a great time here as a group of four families with children. There’s lots of green space and two pools, including one that’s just right for children under 6. The in-house chef served delicious dinners at a long table overlooking the fields and vineyards. It’s a peaceful place for sharing good moments with family and friends, with excellent management and a lovely welcome.

Anna, the caretaker, lives in a separate section of the same building and was friendly, helpful, and always available. She washed the towels once a week and cleaned the pool every day. The villa itself was very clean and well maintained, with simple, tasteful furnishings. We enjoyed the large terrace dining table and its wonderful vineyard and sunset views. The clean pool was also well cared for, and the spacious basement had a pool table, a small gym, and a steam room. All six bedrooms are upstairs, where it felt a little cramped. Mosquitoes were a major problem. Bring every kind of repellent you can, as Tuscan mosquito bites can cause quite pronounced skin reactions and really take away from a vacation. The dishwasher worked only intermittently, though the owner replaced it toward the end of our stay. The old oven was hard to use and sometimes didn’t work at all. Only two bedrooms had air conditioning. Guests have to take their trash into town for disposal.

The villa is comfortable and well kept, with everything a large group might need. Vineyards surround it, making for a lovely, relaxing setting. We’ll definitely be back.
