Monun Hotel & Spa

The building has been restored beautifully, and I liked the design details, especially the high-tech digital lighting in the rooms. I couldn't get the TV working despite trying every button on the remote, and I had the same trouble with the heating. I never called the front desk, so that's not really their fault, though the unit seemed to only provide cooling. The spa and roof deck weren't available during my visit. The staff were kind and attentive.

The staff were friendly and helpful from the start, and the accommodation was better than I expected. The location worked out perfectly for the city center and the ceramic shops. They use WhatsApp for directions and recommendations, which was great. I was looking forward to the whole week after the first night. By checkout, I still felt it had been a great stay, with a few hiccups. One staff member gave my phone an address that took us to an unsafe area, then missed my WhatsApp asking for an early pickup, so I waited an extra 15 minutes. Staff were also very loud outside my door at 6:30 in the morning and woke me up. The location is close to pretty much everything in town, breakfast was great, and the massage was wonderful. I'd stay again.

I was in the original building, and only found out on my last day that the other building had a rooftop jacuzzi. The hotel itself was nice, with very pleasant staff who gave great suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. I'd recommend it for either a work trip or a holiday.

The Royal Suite was spacious, quiet, and well furnished, with a lovely sitting veranda where we caught some early spring sun. The staff were friendly and helpful, even carrying our bags to the room. The hotel is a great base for nearby ceramics shops. It's on a narrow street with limited parking, but they kindly held a space for us when we arrived early. We also enjoyed wine and espresso in the lounge during the day. Best place to stay in Grottaglie, in my view. Definitely recommend it.
