For us, coming from Berlin, this was exactly the kind of getaway we'd dreamed about. The evenings were so peaceful, with stars that seemed bigger than usual. The garden meets the woods and has mulberry, fig, pomegranate, and apple trees, plus blackberries everywhere. The rooms are simple but welcoming and tastefully furnished, a nice change from the same-looking places we're used to. The views are unforgettable. It's tucked away in the Umbrian hills, far from everything, but easy to reach by car, about 10 minutes from the nearest town and 30 minutes from Gubbio or Perugia.
