A calm, quiet, clean place with kind staff. My room had a nice terrace, and it’s an easy walk to Ischia porto.

The central location in Ischia Porto is strategic, but the hotel feels very dated, including its layout. Its old-fashioned furnishings aren’t antiques. There’s no key card system, and the concierge keeps watch for guests arriving late at night. There’s no elevator. When I asked about one, I was told, “unfortunately not.” After a long day, the stairs to the second or third floor are tiring. There’s no catering either, and breakfast is an extra at a partner bar. The place needs substantial renovation, including an elevator and freight elevator.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone expecting professionalism and cooperation. A booking error by the Booking system, not me, listed two adults instead of two adults and two children. I explained what had happened to the front desk several times and provided proof, but got no support or understanding. The staff instead insisted on charging an unfair surcharge and put the blame squarely on me as the customer. That unprofessional and unempathetic response made the stay unpleasant from the moment I arrived. Given such an obvious mix-up, I expected more willingness to help and better customer service.

The owners were welcoming, and a night here was reasonably priced. This family-run place has an old-fashioned 1980s look, though it was clean and clearly looked after. It’s right on the main street in the city center, which was handy. I only had an issue with the shower: its door was broken and a sliding curtain had been put in its place. There’s no breakfast, but a couple of bars are just outside. I had a pretty good stay, as long as you come with modest expectations.
