Av Isola Verde Hotel & Thermal Spa

I came with my wife mainly for spa treatments, and Mauro and Alberto were both fantastic healthcare professionals. They were skilled, courteous, and attentive to our needs. The hotel is a relaxing spa resort in a green setting, with many staff whose professionalism made us feel like guests rather than numbers. There are inhalation and mud therapy rooms, a beautiful indoor pool with warm thermal water, and an outdoor thermal pool alongside a Turkish bath, Kneipp path, restrooms, and loungers. Our room was cleaned thoroughly and kept ready to use. Breakfast had plenty of variety, as did lunch and dinner. The food seemed truly excellent and fresh to me. I’ll leave the dinners as a surprise. Gabriele tirelessly and competently oversees the dining room and kitchen, almost like an orchestra conductor. The dining room staff also made the atmosphere pleasant. Ciro was experienced, capable, friendly, and helpful, and Erica was young and active, already well suited to her role. There’s a bus stop almost next to the hotel for getting to different places, plus a nearby Conad supermarket. Other services are easy to reach on foot or by bus to the city center. Local residents were generally helpful and courteous. There are lots of lovely places to visit, but everyone’s tastes are different, so I won’t list them. We had a great week and found it easy to get around the island. The rooms were clean and harmonious, and the traditional food was truly delicious. Staff were really friendly, and we enjoyed the lovely relaxation area.

We wanted somewhere relaxed and unpretentious where we could rest, get around easily, and unwind, and Isola Verde worked well for us. The property has a traditional feel, but the atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful. We especially liked sitting by the pool after days out. The staff were friendly, and the simplicity and tranquility are what we’ll remember. It made the holiday feel stress-free.

We spent New Year’s Eve here with a group, expecting a 4-star hotel, and were disappointed. After lunch on arrival day I asked for our key, and the manager said keys were only available from 5:00 PM. Staff eventually handed it over around 3:00 PM after I asked again. The rooms were small for a 4-star place, and the shower was tiny and slippery. At least the hotel was clean and the mattress was good. In December we couldn’t sleep without a wool blanket, so we had to ask for one. The food was very poor. The breakfast machines weren’t working on three of our five days, and there wasn’t a single fresh roll. Apparently there are no bakeries in Ischia! The elevator was broken four days out of five, and we were on the third floor. A big letdown, though at least the weather was sunny.
