Hotel Parco Aurora

My family and I just got back from ten wonderful days at Parco Aurora hotel. We felt at home, surrounded by family, thanks to the hospitality. The views are amazing, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and so accommodating. The front desk was top notch, especially Mrs Restituta, who was always ready to help. A quiet seafront setting with a view of nearby Procida, plus several private beaches close by. It’s a three-minute walk to the long shopping street and about 20 minutes on foot to either Ischia Porto or Castello Aragonese. Staff were friendly and always helpful. My room was spacious, with a large side sea-view balcony and a big bathroom. There are two outdoor pools, plenty of seating and sun loungers, and a wellness area open in the morning until 19:00. It has two hot spring pools, one with a jacuzzi, a small cold pool, a sauna, and a steam sauna. Breakfast was basic and average: eggs you boil yourself, bread, cold cuts, yoghurt, muesli, croissants, cakes, and so on. Half-board dinner was very good value. There’s a buffet of antipasti, then soup, primi, secondi, and dessert served at the table. The grilled swordfish and octopus pasta were delicious. Dinner runs from 19:30 to 20:30. Most guests were older, with some families with kids, and mainly Italian and German. All in all, a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

The staff were wonderful and the food was good, though repetitive. Our room was clean apart from the water glasses, which looked dirty, and one had hair inside. The AC didn’t cool the room properly, so nights were hot. I asked twice to have it fixed, but no luck. Internet was very slow and only worked near reception. The hotel pools had mold and hard water buildup, and the water was cloudy. There were no towels for the pool or spa, so bring your own. It’s a long walk to the beach area. The thermal pools take a $5 per person taxi ride to reach, but they were well worth it. I’d give the place one star if not for the great staff and amazing thermal pools.

A nice, clean place with a good atmosphere. The pools and sauna were clean and nice too. It seems more suited to older guests. The service was great, but the food needs a lot of improvement. It was okay, not great, and for a country known for coffee, theirs wasn’t good.
