Punta Molino Beach Resort and Thermal Spa

Tonia, one of the waitresses, was amazing and really seemed to care about making us happy. Antonio, the manager, was also great and present. When we told him about the problems in our suite, he moved us straight to another room, where the only issue was still the air conditioning. But we felt a dinner for two wasn't enough compensation. As returning guests paying a lot, I expected more help with a refund. This was our second visit, and we left very disappointed. The hotel seemed dated and had maintenance issues all over. There was algae in several spots in the main pool, with missing tiles, peeling paint, and plaster breaking off into the water. Our suite looked nice at first but had a lot wrong with it: terrible air conditioning, a broken spa tub, a faulty bathroom lock, a slow-draining shower, and no directions for using it. We found out the hotel had recently sold and would change ownership in October. It felt like the current owners had one foot out the door and weren't putting time or energy into the property. For the price, I wish we'd chosen another resort. We won't stay at Punta Molino again. It no longer feels like a 5 star resort.

The balcony overlooking the sea was a delight. We spent time watching all the yachts and motor launches come and go. The room was comfortable, the bed enormous, and the air conditioning kept it cool despite the heat outside. Staff were professional, warm, and ready to help. The beach is private and well supervised, and the pool area has both thermal and cool water pools with excellent catering. There's an indoor thermal pool too, though we didn't need to use it. Food was outstanding from breakfast through dinner, with plenty to choose from, and a great wine list. Such a lovely place to stay, we'll be back very soon.

The town is an easy 15 minute walk, with the castle, port, shops, bars, and restaurants. The pools and beach are well cared for, and the lifeguards provide fresh towels when needed and move the sun umbrellas for you. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful in a relaxed atmosphere. Attention to detail was excellent, from evening turn down and fresh towels at least once a day to the delicious buffet breakfast. When our toilet cistern stopped working, it was fixed within an hour. We'd definitely recommend this charming hotel and resort on the beautiful Island of Ischia.

On arrival, the air conditioner in our room wouldn't cool. Staff spent the whole day trying to fix it, but couldn't. The manager was accommodating and offered the only available room with air conditioning that worked OK, but it was a different category. It was old and disgusting, and instead of a king size bed there were two beds pushed together. The rooms are horrible, the hotel is dirty, and the air conditioning doesn't work. Look at the attached image of the electrical plug and the so-called king size bed. It's a nightmare. If you want a 1 or 2 star Hotel, this is the place. I don't know HOW they got a 5 star rating. Whoever is writing their 5 star reviews can't be real people. STAY AWAY AND BOOK A DIFFERENT HOTEL, or your vacation will be ruined and your wife will be extremely upset.
