Camping Residence Il Faro

The kids enjoyed having space to hang out together, and the outdoor areas were pleasant. Staff were always friendly and helpful, the price was good, and the welcome was warm. There was plenty of room for improvement, though. The place felt very dated and in parts run-down. The furniture itself was in decent shape, two wall units and three base units including the oven, but the oven couldn’t be used, possibly because of the energy use. The bathroom smelled all day, and the shower doors were broken. The beach was only reachable by car or a 20-minute walk. Most of all, we adults didn’t sleep well any night. The mattress felt 50 years old, with springs poking straight into our backs. Good value for money, but there’s a lot that needs fixing.

We came away already promising ourselves we’d return as soon as we can. The calm inside and around Camping Il Faro made for a genuinely peaceful holiday, and the views from the campsite are breathtaking. The owners were warm and helpful, always ready with advice or answers to our questions. It’s a lovely place for both families and adults. The beaches are fabulous, especially Sovereto Beach, where children and grown-ups can both have fun. Our little girl had a blast.

Sunset views over the sea, with access to it just a short distance away. The campsite is family-run, peaceful, and welcoming, and the campers add to its relaxed atmosphere. We hope to be back in this paradise soon to say hello to the whole family. Everything was looked after and worked well, including the restrooms. We got plenty of advice about what to see nearby, and the bar serves tasty aperitifs at great prices. Thanks to everyone 😘

We left after only an hour because we felt misled. The bungalow we were given didn’t match the photos on Booking.com, and I would never have checked in if I’d seen it beforehand. The avenue’s bungalows all looked alike, and none seemed to be made of wood except the owner’s. The spaces were cramped and stuffy, and there was no bidet. The price wasn’t worth it. The place itself was awful. The staff were initially very kind, and it’s very close to the lighthouse, but the corrugated metal shacks looked like the ones you see in Caracas. Booking.com cancelled our reservation after we notified them, but staff still issued an invoice, so we had to pay 875 euros, practically a donation to charity. Never mind. This is exactly why the South can’t survive. There are wonderful people, but scams are around every corner.
