The portions are enormous, so come hungry, and the prices are surprisingly low. The menu changes each day around whatever fresh products they have, and the food stays high quality. You wouldn’t guess from the outside that this is such a good restaurant, but the people working there clearly care about their job and whether you’re happy. If you’re nearby, give it a try.

We came back a few evenings because this was our favorite spot in the area for both the food and the staff. Everything we tried was really good, came out hot, and didn’t take long. The eggplant medallions, Piccantino lasagna, and zuppa inglese are the dishes we’d especially recommend.

The one standout was the fresh calamarata with pistachio and prawn cream, which was excellent and cost €15. The seafood starter, including the raw fish, was disappointing overall for €18, aside from the raw fish and peppered mussels. The €18 mixed grill wasn’t great for either quality or quantity: it was a quarter swordfish, two prawns, and half a sea bass. I came for lunch after seeing good reviews from earlier, and wondered whether the management might have changed. The staff were kind, but service missed some details. Our bottled wine arrived without a bucket or a tasting, and the bottle we ordered wasn’t available. They offered something else, but it wasn’t even local. The place and bathrooms were very clean. Still, €80 felt a bit steep for what we had: one starter, one first course, one main, a bottle of wine, two liqueurs, and two coffees.
