TH Capo Rizzuto

The beaches and views deserve more than 4 stars, and lunch was great, over 4 stars too. Breakfast was very poor. I'd give the rooms no more than 3 stars.

For the price, our family of four had a good August holiday. The sea was clean and beautiful, the bars were clean too, and the all-inclusive plan with alcohol was a good deal. Rooms were comfortable and clean, the pool was nice, and the entertainment was excellent. There was plenty of food, though the quality wasn't the best. I didn't like booking beach restaurants through the app, since they seemed practically all taken as soon as you logged in. That also made the shuttle back uphill for lunch impractical.

The entertainment was the biggest surprise for me this year. Max and Alex's crew did a great job mixing fun with healthy competition, and both adults and children enjoyed it. I especially liked how simply and smoothly they handled a shift from 400 guests to 20, getting everyone involved without being intrusive. Maestro Antonio also deserves praise for the much appreciated piano bar in the evenings. The location was enchanting as ever. Reception was friendly and efficient: after I reported the refrigerator, they replaced it in less than an hour. Room service was excellent, as was cleanliness in the rooms and shared spaces. Beach service was excellent too. The pool service was good, although the loungers were old and broken. The food was where the change in management showed most, especially in the raw ingredients, which was a shame. We came back to the Capo Rizzuto resort after last year's stay, only to find it was now run by Apulia Hotel instead of TH. We started out with some mistaken impressions, but by the end most of my concerns had proved unfounded.

The beach walk involves quite a lot of steps, though there's a shuttle if you'd rather take it. The place sits among greenery by the clear sea, and the resort is fairly large with plenty of comforts. The food was top-notch, and the two bars had what you needed throughout the day. Entertainment was very poor, apart from Marco, who's really good at his job. Otherwise, I'd put it close to 4 stars.
