Incanto di Luna

It's a shame the holiday had to end. The beach we visited, "u' cazzill'i re," near Villammare, was dark, with pebbles and coarse sand; the water was clean, and the bar and restaurant were well organized. It wasn't very crowded at the start of July. Giovanni suggested this and an osteria run by Zia Addolorata, where a lady serves generous portions of typical local food. He was friendly, helpful, and gave us tips on places to see and eat. The apartment was spotless and had a sea view, air conditioning that we rarely needed, internet, a nice functional bathroom, and a TV. Breakfast was plentiful. Giovanni, the owner, looks after the garden, which is full of unusual plants and flowers. There's a gate and cameras to protect the cars and residents. It's very quiet, with only nature to hear. From about 200 meters above sea level, there's a 20° view of the sea to the south, facing the Aeolian Islands, visible only when there's no haze. It's a 7-minute walk to the seafront, and there are two routes to get there, one more scenic and a little longer, which we preferred. We'll definitely be back.

Giovanni is a wonderful, friendly person, and the outdoor breakfast was delicious. I only missed having some fruit. We stayed four nights in this lovely place on a hill, about a five-minute drive or motorbike ride from the sea. You sleep really well without air conditioning. The first-floor rooms are small, but clean and comfortable, and ours had a lovely terrace at the back.

The owners made the stay feel personal. He always greeted us with a smile, and he and his wife were so nice that they invited us to join them on a boat and go out for dinner several times. You can tell when someone puts their heart into their work, and travelers should recognize it. He was also happy to offer tips for beaches worth visiting. We stayed from July 22nd to 25th, 2019. The room was spacious, clean, and had excellent air conditioning. The bathroom was large, with a shower much more comfortable than many we've tried, and there was always hot water, unlike some other places we've stayed at this time of year. The garden view was lovely, with every detail looked after by the owner, and the sea was visible in the distance. Marina di Camerota is at most 25 minutes away by car, and there are lots of nearby beaches to visit. Breakfast was good, with excellent cappuccino and coffee, plus snacks and biscuits. Sometimes the owner treated guests to cake.

The hillside setting makes the B&B quiet, peaceful, and cool, and it's only a few minutes from the sea. The lodging is pleasant, and the garden is beautifully kept, a lovely spot to relax. It's just a short walk from the village of Ispani. Giovanni is a wonderful host, and don't miss a chance to chat with his father.
