Hotel Brioni Mare

The cleaning lady did a great job, but you can clearly hear neighboring rooms at night, which is a real downside. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, mostly sweet cakes and bacon that was soft and seemed steamed rather than fried. They also charge extra for the in-room safe, which is stupid when we’re already paying for the room.

The buffet breakfast was awesome, and there are lots of places to eat and shop nearby. Rooms were great, close to the beach and Main Street. Almost all the staff were very friendly, except for one cranky old guy at the front desk. I’d stay here again!

Dinner was delicious, with a range of dishes to suit different tastes. We stayed on a half-board plan in a family room for two children. The bathroom was spacious enough, and the terrace was excellent. The furniture is dated but well maintained. Breakfast was basic, with very few vegetables. I expected good Italian olives and tomatoes, but there were no olives at all, and the tomatoes were only half-ripe.

They went out of their way to help us, even arranging takeaway coffee and croissants for breakfast when we checked out at 4 a.m. The reception team were fantastic, especially Michelle. The driver also worked wonders parking our car, so we didn’t have to worry, and there’s parking on site. The rooms were clean and neat, breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is in a brilliant spot near the beach and water park. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely return next year.
