Falkensteiner Hotel&Spa Jesolo

The only thing we really liked was the location. Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo is on the front line by a big, very clean sandy beach. The rest left us disappointed, and we won't be returning. We came with my family last week expecting great service and delicious Italian food, as we always get in Venice, but that wasn't what we found. The room wasn't clean. The curtains beside the bed were especially dirty, though they should have been white. Smoking is allowed on the balcony, so whenever you open a window, you can smell someone smoking nearby. The sinks drained very slowly, with water sitting in them. Food was the biggest letdown. The quality was OK, but it didn't taste good, especially compared with our past meals in Venice. It didn't feel like real Italian cuisine. Dinner seemed to be reheated instead of freshly made. Maybe the pizza was an exception, but that was too oily and not good either. We'd suggest going out to find a better, authentic restaurant nearby. Service was slow. Restaurant staff spoke very poor English for a 5-star hotel, often misunderstood our orders or got them wrong, which was frustrating. Reception staff were helpful, but we didn't feel the warmth you expect at a good 5-star hotel. The interior also felt very cheap, with plastic plants and no live ones. After leaving, we had a delicious dinner in Venice that helped heal our damaged souls.

The staff made our one-night stay feel special, with attentive, friendly service and every request handled efficiently and thoughtfully. We felt valued, and their professionalism stood out throughout. From our room, the views were stunning and peaceful, and the bed was so comfortable that we got a restful, refreshing night's sleep. The whole visit was delightful and exceeded our expectations. We'd happily recommend the hotel and are already looking forward to coming back.

The pools were a highlight: attractive, clean, and well run. Staff by the pool were friendly and attentive, the one part of the service that really felt 5-star. We stayed a couple of nights in a suite at Falkensteiner Jesolo, paying over €1,500 per night, so we expected something close to ultra-luxury. It mostly felt ultra-expensive instead. The suite was spacious, but that was about it: basic fittings, no special amenities, and no welcome extras. Vanity kits weren't replenished even after multiple nights. Turn-down service was inconsistent, with someone closing the curtains one night and nobody coming the next. We also found a wet, dirty towel mixed in with the supposedly clean ones under the sink. At this price, that's inexcusable. Half board in the restaurant felt like an afterthought. Service was chaotic and we had to ask three times for a menu. The buffet had far too many sweets and not enough proper food. Simple Italian dishes were OK, but anything more complex came out dry and unbalanced. Fine dining simply doesn't exist here. The prices were another issue. They charged €8 for 5cl of the cheapest Port, when the whole bottle retails for €9. Water was complimentary only the first night, then charged even in a suite. It might seem like a small thing, but it says a lot. In photos, Falkensteiner Jesolo looks the part, and the pool area does live up to it. Underneath, though, there was little attention to detail, inconsistent service, and a serious mismatch between the price and the stay. We left feeling we'd paid for the appearance of luxury, not the real thing.

The hotel is modern and among the newer places around, but it feels overpriced. A lot of the large seafront complex is still a construction site.
