Hotel Germania

The entertainment really stood out. The three young animators included everyone, with beach volleyball, morning stretches, dancing, and drinking games like a flip-flop throwing contest. There were activities on the beach from 10-12 and 16-18, then at the hotel after 9 pm. Many were aimed at kids, but adults had plenty to do too. I was unsure about Hotel Germania after reading some negative reviews, but it exceeded my expectations. The rooms were always spotless, and the newer air conditioning kept them comfortable at night. Half-board came with excellent, authentic Italian food and very nice local wine. The hotel is close to the beach, where an umbrella and two loungers are assigned for your stay. The staff were a motivated, friendly bunch, and owner Tania and the team made me feel part of a big, happy Italian family. Thanks for all the effort. I hope to return.

The dinner was good, and although some East Europeans might find the two Italian-style courses a bit small, they were enough for me. The cook did a nice job, including making vegetarian food for me, which I appreciated. Breakfast was much less impressive: just some pastries, butter, poor-quality marmalade, one cheese and salami, and a few sweet cakes. The fruit might save it for some people. The staff were welcoming, especially at reception and in the dining room. The beds were good, and the room had enough space for two, though not much. Three adults could find a three-bed room crowded. It's a comfortable enough hotel for a night or two, and fairly near the beach. I wasn't sure whether it had its own beach like the other hotels, so finding a spot might be an issue. You may need to use a public beach or ask the hotel about it. The room's heating air conditioning didn't work for me or another couple, so it could be cold in spring and perhaps autumn. Even with those small shortcomings, I felt comfortable there. The nice staff went a long way toward making up for the things that were missing.

The location was handy, with the beach, restaurants, and cafes close by. It was very clean and pleasant, and everything worked out fine, so I'd recommend it. The rooms were small, and the beds could've been a bit softer. The blankets and pillows also need replacing. Oddly, there were three dead mosquitoes on the wall.

We only stayed one night in a two-bed apartment, upgraded from a hotel room. It was clean, but the shower could've been bigger, and we ran out of hot water after two showers. For an apartment that size, that wasn't enough. Otherwise, it was decent for the price and for an overnight stop. Breakfast was the catch: booking said it was included, but when we ate it, we found out it wasn't.
