Heron apartments

The hotel and its staff were really respectful.

We had to go to the hotel next door for breakfast. The place itself was in very poor condition: the bathroom was dirty and run down, and the bunk bed was in bad shape too. Its ladder was rusty and worn.

The room worked fine, though it could use an update. Getting to the beach or pool is easy, you can walk out in your swimsuit and slippers and be right there. The food was excellent, with meat and fish to choose from. Parking is beside the hotel. If there's no free spot, you can leave your keys at reception and they'll find somewhere for the car. A positive stay.

The food was excellent, especially dinner, which was nicely served and well seasoned. Breakfast is more limited, with the same things each morning, so after a week it felt a bit repetitive. The hotel is in a great spot, right by the beach and close to streets full of shops and restaurants. The outer facade has been renovated, though that seems to have been about 10 years ago. The grounds have a parking issue, with a cramped lot around the hotel. At dinner they automatically bring bottles of mineral water but don't mention that they're extra, so you only find out when settling the bill at checkout. The rooms are pleasant for a three-star place but worn, with dated windows, handles, and toilet. There's a constant cesspool smell that you can't air out. The air conditioning is at least 20 years old, clogged with dust, and hard to set sensibly. Forget to adjust it and you can end up literally cold at night. Despite all that, it's adequate for undemanding holidaymakers, though it's not exactly cheap.
