Park Hotel Ermitage

Dinner service was excellent and professional, and the hotel itself was fine. The staff were generally polite and professional. Still, my ten-night stay left me feeling like a second-class guest, and I wouldn’t stay here or recommend it again. The beach sunbed arrangements felt arbitrary. For my first four days I used the same umbrella and beds without a problem. On day five I was told to move because they were reserved. I did, but nobody came to use them for the rest of the day. I usually arrived around noon and never took beds that were occupied. It seemed some guests could reserve places without intending to use them, while others were moved. That felt unfair and like favoritism. Breakfast was included for everyone, but service didn’t feel equal. Some tables had silverware and an extra paper cover, while others weren’t set. Whenever I sat at a prepared table, I was moved and told it was reserved. A waiter eventually pulled a hidden reservation note from under the table number holder, rudely implying I should have checked. I paid for the same breakfast, yet had to sit at an unprepared table and find my own cutlery. Once I couldn’t find a spoon and stirred my coffee with a fork. After I complained, the notes were made more visible, but it left a bad taste. It felt as if guests with extra meals got preference. The reservation rules were confusing and poorly explained. Reception said there was no breakfast reservation policy, despite the different treatment, while I was told there were beach reservations. When I raised it, they apologized but gave weak explanations, including that some guests like to sit at the same table every time. A four-star hotel should treat people fairly regardless of how many meals they book or where they prefer to sit. The breakfast and beach incidents left a lasting negative impression, and I hope the hotel reconsiders its policies.
