The view from the house is lovely, with mountains and forests all around. L'Aquila is only about a dozen kilometers away, and the cable car station for Campo Imperatore, a breathtaking place, is three and a half kilometers away. We stayed at Il Frutteto in Assergi for four days, from August 13th to 17th. Paola's daughter welcomed us warmly and was very kind and friendly. The place was immaculate, and the guests were looked after with great care. Kudos to the people in these areas, hit by the 2009 earthquake, who stayed determined and worked hard to bring these beautiful places back to life. Best wishes to Paola's family. It's a family-run place, and the staff are genuinely kind and helpful. I've stayed in two apartments at this B&B, both spacious and spotless. There's private parking beneath the apartments, and the property is very close to the cable car to Campo Imperatore. L'Aquila is only a few minutes away as well. I highly recommend it.

Breakfast is the classic industrial kind, but it has everything you need: milk, yogurt, Actimel, assorted biscuits, jams, and croissants. The place itself is fantastic, large, super clean, with all the comforts and more. Excellent. We'll be back.

We had the whole house to ourselves. It was a real treat: clean and spacious, with a nice veranda and a good kitchen.
