The place was clean, well maintained, and in a good location. Everything was nice, though being on the second floor meant we had to carry our luggage up. We had a little trouble cooking for our daughter and could have used more pots and bowls, but the owner brought us a vessel when we asked.

For the price, it was a good stay, and the location was excellent. It’s an interesting option if you want to keep costs down while staying in a convenient area. The room is small but works for two people. The bathroom is very cramped, making it almost impossible to shower without getting everything around it wet, and the kitchen utensils could be better. The staircase up to the room is another adventure, quite narrow to climb with luggage.

The woman who welcomed us was very friendly. She worked at a nearby café, where we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace in good company 😅. The island itself is paradise, and local people we met were mostly open-minded and quickly helped us forget the awful rental. Getting into the accommodation was a mess: we waited more than an hour in the heat, even though we’d given our arrival time and the establishment had confirmed it. Our room was on the top floor, up such a narrow staircase that we had to slide down. I’ll spare the details of getting our heavy suitcases up there. One morning we were locked inside because the main entrance wouldn’t open. We had to fix it ourselves to get out, since nobody answered the “service” number. The place was dirty, the bathroom had mold, the cutlery and sheets were in awful condition, and the water smelled very unpleasant. If you’re staying more than two days, choose somewhere more expensive, unless you enjoy this kind of misadventure.

The room’s location and air conditioning were the only things I’d point to as positives. Getting up the stairs was difficult, the sink smelled bad and its plug was broken. The kitchen gear was in rough shape too, including a dented, badly damaged frying pan and a broken wooden spoon. And the TV had no signal.

The location was the one good thing. There were three of us for two nights, but we found just three shower towels and two medium towels, and both rolls of toilet paper had already been used. The sheets felt damp, and the quilt was so thin that December was very cold. One small shower towel was torn along the side, and flushing the toilet made water splash out as the tank refilled.
