Our host was great. He arranged private parking for our car and gave us directions to restaurants and anything else we needed. The hotel has only five rooms, all clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom and a lovely city view. It’s right in the centre of La Spezia, a short walk from both the port and the train station. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was across the way, with good coffee and more than enough food. Our room was clean and quiet, and I’ll miss the lovely view from the window in the morning. The hotel is just a few minutes from the train station. Raffaello was polite and knew the area well.

The owner was so helpful and kind. His tips for beaches, nearby towns, getting around, and dinner were excellent, and we had our best meal on the last night. Ask him to book a table if you need one, and let him know roughly when you’ll arrive so he can wait for you. Finding the entrance was tricky for us at first because it’s inside a big building. Breakfast was the one part that didn’t suit us. It’s served at a small, busy bar near the rooms, and the standard options weren’t very suitable for food allergies, dairy in my case. The staff didn’t seem well equipped for requests outside the usual choices. The owner couldn’t really control that, and when we told him, he apologized profusely. I’m mentioning it so other guests know what to expect.

Friendly staff and a nice view of the piazza, in a traditional old building. For the price and location, it’s good, though the rooms are actually part of a residential building and feel basic and outdated. The elevator is tiny, comfortable for two at most. It’s also hard to find, and the sign is very small.
