We needed an affordable place outside a town, close enough to explore the Cinque Terre, and this worked well. La Spezia is about five minutes away by bus, and Portovenere takes 10-15 minutes, where you can begin the hike through the Cinque Terre. Our room was on the small side with little room for luggage, but it had what we needed and the bathroom was clean. The family who runs the apartments also has a nearby bar with great coffee and snacks, and it seems to double as reception.

A cozy little place, and I'd happily recommend it. The bus stop for La Spezia is just around the corner, with a ride of about 15 minutes. The WiFi was unreliable, and there was some noise now and then from people coming and going.

The rooms were clean and perfectly acceptable, but the stay felt a bit inconvenient. There isn't a receptionist, and our calls to the contact numbers went unanswered. We got in only after a text told us to collect the keys at a nearby bar. The owner or manager there escorted us and let us inside. Carrying bags up the narrow stairs was awkward, and there's no lift. For what you get, just a room, it seemed somewhat expensive.

It's in a handy spot, quiet but still close to everything, and there's parking just a few steps away. Our room was clean and roomy, though a little dated, and it had been looked after well. The bathroom was especially large and had everything we needed. The downside was the tall building and our room on the top floor, though that seems common around here.
