La Casa di Gabriella

The staff were very friendly and explained everything, and I liked having a mini-fridge and electric kettle. But it was hard to sleep after long days visiting Cinque Terre. The room was hotter than outside in mid-August, with almost no airflow. I don’t mind a fan and wasn’t expecting air conditioning, but a small fan at night didn’t bring in any fresh air. We also heard loud church bells from nearby, though that was minor compared with the street noise. On weekdays, people in the neighborhood were out until the early hours, playing music and shouting in the street and square across from us. It made sleeping impossible. The place wasn’t really for me, even if that sounds like a lot to ask. The train and bus stations are close, but breakfast is served at a café five blocks away. We stayed two days and our towels weren’t changed. The staff were lovely, but a couple of things could be better.

WARNING! The owner told me not to come because there was no room available, even though I only found out the day before my reservation was meant to be canceled. They list more rooms for rent than they actually have. Unbelievable. I’d suggest staying in Levante instead, it’s beautiful and has a beach.

A lovely, clean apartment, conveniently close to both the city center and train station. Highly recommended!

The apartment itself isn’t bad, but the service is terrible. There’s no service here, and tourism depends on it. They shouldn’t be in this business.
