We'd paid €125 in advance for three days, but missed our fare to the city and told the owner through three different channels that we'd arrive the next day. After 17 hours of travel, we got to the door and found she'd cancelled the stay without telling us, kept the money, and wouldn't answer our calls. Lia seems more like a crook than a guesthouse manager. Don't book here.

We missed the special check-in instructions, lesson learned, but the staff replied to our messages right away and helped us get into the room. The place felt very safe and was well situated near bars, restaurants, shops, and more. Highly recommended!

Please don't book here. The owner didn't respond and still asked us to pay. We'd told him through the booking website when we'd arrive and that we'd be later than first expected, and we agreed to pay the late check-in fee. But nobody showed up when we got there. Using the number from the booking messages, I called several times and left messages, explaining that we were three girls alone in the city at night. He never bothered to reply. We had to find somewhere else, 37 kilometers away because nearby hotels were full. It was past midnight before we knew we'd have a roof over our heads. The booking website later told us the owner was still asking for payment, as if he didn't recognize how wrong this was. As tourists in another country, making an official complaint is almost impossible. Even the taxi driver taking us to the new place wasn't surprised. They said this had happened before and the address was known for it. This ruined our first night in La Spezia and could ruin yours too. I added a photo of myself outside the building, trying to reach the owner, to show we really were there to check in.

Worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. They didn't let us in! We told them we'd arrive late, but nobody showed up, and they gave us a fake number. Then they cancelled our booking. Terrible management. I won't be back!
