Dante and Erika made our week easy from start to finish. Check-in included a long, helpful tour of the apartment and answers to all our questions. They helped with car seats we'd had shipped to La Spezia, and when we forgot to move the car to the other side of the gate before returning the keys, they came to rescue us in the parking lot. Communication was always quick and easy. They also left starter supplies, including drinks in the fridge, laundry and dish soap, wine, and cooking basics. We were a family of five, with three children under five, and didn't have a car. The apartment is well placed for buses, with several stops and routes nearby, and we had no trouble getting around. We visited Pisa, Cinque Terre twice, and Portoverne, which was our favourite. There are a couple of playgrounds nearby, and Dante also told us about an indoor play place that was great for the kids on a rainy day. There was plenty of space, we were comfortable, and doing a couple of quick loads of laundry was a bonus with kids. The eighth-floor view is great, and there's very little traffic noise, though we did hear the occasional train and ambulance. There wasn't much to complain about. The hot water was just enough for two showers back to back, the master bed was firmer than we prefer but still okay, and the neighbourhood is a little rougher around the edges than the town centre with its nice shops and restaurants. We never had any problems, though. Great hosts, a good base for visiting different places, and good value. We'd highly recommend it.
