I spent nine days on Ischia, and this is a lovely, very quiet spot. My stay was at the end of May and start of June, and the guests seemed mostly older, so there wasn't much going on. It's ideal if you want somewhere peaceful. Just outside is a small town with a few restaurants and a little beach, and the bus stop is right by the hotel. Buses to Ischia Port run every 15 minutes, with a much better range and quality of restaurants there. Taxis are expensive. The staff were accommodating, though their English was very limited. I don't speak Italian either, so communicating could be a bit challenging. The hotel can arrange tours around Ischia or trips to nearby islands. They also organized a driver to meet me at the airport, take me to the port in Naples, and meet me at the port on Ischia, which made getting there much less stressful. There's a lovely spa with lots of treatments. I had a few with Gabriella, who was fantastic. The pool area is lovely, and snacks are available at certain times. The room air conditioning wasn't great, which made sleeping in the heat difficult. I was also surprised by the limited food selection, even though there are some nice restaurants around.

The location is fantastic, and the pools are great. The staff were nice, too. Our room was small and faced the street. The windows were so old that closing them made no difference to the awful noise. The streets were busy from 5 AM, so we couldn't sleep after that. If breakfast is included, don't count on much: it's very basic, just sweets and coffee.

The hotel seemed popular with Italians on holiday, but as British guests we didn't feel especially welcome. The place was clean and generally well kept, just an okay hotel, but the service and breakfast both fell short of what we expected from this part of Italy. The beds weren't comfortable, either. I wouldn't call it four-star.

The food is well worth trying, especially the typical Ischian and Italian dishes. The restaurant staff were very friendly, and I highly recommend the cooking. I had the best gluten-free pomodoro pasta ever!

The garden is nice, and it's an easy walk into the center of Lacco Ameno for cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself feels like three stars and sits right on the road, with quite old rooms. I found the service unhelpful: nobody ever came to fix my room door, and they gave us no advice on how to make the most of the island. Breakfast was horrible. Unless you're over 75, I wouldn't go. Poor value for money.
