After a busy time in Rome, a few days by the beach made a perfect break. We spent three nights here during a three-week trip, after renting a car at the airport and making the easy 45-minute drive. Riva Di Palo was a great base for exploring the coastline, and the beach was ideal for lounging and swimming. The staff were super welcoming. We ate at the new restaurant all three evenings, with spectacular sunset views, and the breakfast room was just right.

The beach was clean and lovely, and the hotel is right on it. Breakfast was nice and had everything we needed. Our room was big and clean, and beach towels were available at FO. The staff helped with our luggage and answered all our questions. We had a lovely few days away from Rome. One tip if you're coming straight from Rome airport, arrange a driver or taxi beforehand. Our local airport taxi driver didn't want to take us and had no idea where the place was. We loved our stay.

We only stayed one night, the last one in Italy, and were sorry it wasn't longer. We needed somewhere reasonably close to the airport and booked at the very last minute. Thank goodness we found this place. The team was awesome, and we'll definitely come back.

The staff were kind and really attentive, and I can only recommend staying here. Our room was lovely, quiet, and had great amenities. We enjoyed a seaside walk and a swim in the Mediterranean, then had Roman cuisine with lovely restaurant service. It was early in the season, so the beach clubs weren't up and running yet. I'd love to return when they are.

The rooms were quite clean, but the towels smelled as if previous guests had used them. Reception was a real plus: everything went smoothly, we got lots of information and were looked after. The guy behind the beach bar also made awesome drinks. Those were the only bright spots in a stay where the service was very poor, and we felt like an unwanted enemy. This hotel has a lot of potential, which makes that experience a pity. We have never been treated this way anywhere else. We are always polite and smile when dealing with service staff, but got no warmth back here. At the restaurant and beach club, getting service took a long time. We waited ages for menus, then again for someone to take our order, even when we waved both hands at the waitress. The food was fine, but when we asked three times for the bill to sign, they still didn't want to bring it. At the beach club, the woman with dark curly hair ignored us several times even when we spoke to her directly. She seemed like she either hated her job or us. Sometimes water came with the coffee, sometimes it didn't, depending on the service's mood, though that's a minor issue. Breakfast was very poor too. If you're not Italian, be prepared to be treated like dirt. Even when you're willing to spend a lot, it feels like they don't want your business and would rather you weren't there. Customer service is a joke. For us, that's worth just one star.
