We keep coming back because everyone is so friendly and the place has everything we need. The view down over Meran is great, and the rooms are very good. Breakfast with local produce gets the day going. There are hikes all around, but the garden and pool are also a lovely spot to unwind and cool off. It never disappoints!

After a day biking or hiking, the pool surrounded by greenery is a great welcome. The big garden is well cared for, with lawns, tables, loungers, benches, and play areas. Breakfast has plenty of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, and fruit grown there. The Gamper family are extremely friendly and hospitable. There’s a bike garage and secure car parking, and the Forst restaurants are about five minutes away for meals. The location is especially good for cycling and walking: it’s close to the 85 km Merano-Resia cycle path, which you can do in stages or return from by train or shuttle bus that also carries bikes. Merano center is only 5 km away and reachable by bike. Set among apple orchards at the foothills of the Tessa Group, it’s also near the historic single-seater chairlift and basket lift to the Leiter Hut, where you can continue on trail 24, the Merano High Mountain Trail. Excellent!

We felt completely at ease here. The hostess was attentive and friendly, and breakfast was generous. Our large top-floor room had a balcony, and though the bathroom was small, it had everything we needed. Covered parking was available too. The house is well maintained, with a Mediterranean-style garden and pool, in a peaceful elevated spot among vineyards and apple orchards. The views of Algund and Merano were stunning.

The sunny balcony had a wonderful view over the Merano Valley, and our room was clean and spacious. The garden was lovely, with a heated pool, and the service was very friendly. Breakfast was generous, with different breads, muesli, yogurt, and homemade apple juice. We were completely satisfied and highly recommend the Oberangerhof.

The renovated room and bathroom were a plus, as was the great view. But the fruit salad had canned fruit cocktail ^^, in a hotel that advertises organic food. Coffee and eggs had to be ordered, with a limit of two, while the sausage and cheese seemed supermarket bought. The garden was neglected.
