La Salina

The first house we were given needed maintenance, a full renovation, and a deep clean. The shutters, walls, and many corners were visibly dirty, and outside the cluttered tanks and containers by the entrance made the place look neglected. The start of our stay at DMV La Salina was especially difficult because the French window was broken and missing a pane, which was both unattractive and a safety concern. The owner left us tape and film to fix it ourselves, which felt unpleasant and unprofessional. I reported it several times to Booking.com, but it took two days and a phone call from me before they offered a solution. After that, the owner was kind and helpful and found us a larger, more comfortable, cleaner place next door. Still, we would have appreciated a fix right away, without having to push. The change of accommodation saved our holiday, but the initial welcome and condition of the first place took away from the experience. With more care and attention, it could have real potential.

The owner was very helpful, and the price is competitive. It’s a convenient spot near the new port and all the amenities you need, just steps from the town center. The property seems to be undergoing renovations, and some apartments are nice and modern. I stayed in one that still needs updating, though it was decent. A little more attention to cleaning would help. Overall, great!

Mr. Paco was very kind and helpful, with lots of tips about getting around and places to go. The location is excellent, with everything close by: shuttle stops for all the island’s coves and a bar right on the harbor just a few steps from the residence. The rooms aren’t state-of-the-art, but they have everything you need. Highly recommended.

The harbor view is magnificent, and the property is right by the center of Lampedusa, where we enjoyed spending our evenings. We stayed from August 15th to 22nd, and Paco, the owner, made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. He was helpful from the start and even arranged a boat trip for us. It was a unique way to discover the island’s beauty, and I highly recommend it. He can also help with scooter or car rentals.
