Pardo Community Hostel

We spent eight nights at Pardo Community Hostel during the San Pardo Festival in May 2024, and the staff were so hardworking and thoughtful. On our last day, they even gave us pastries and juice for the trip home. It may be called a hostel, but it felt much more like a comfortable bed and breakfast. Our private room and bathroom were extremely clean. Towels and bed linen were provided, the bed was made every day and the sheets changed every three days. Towels were changed regularly, and the bathroom was cleaned daily with the floors mopped. The bed was very comfortable, and with the windows shut we couldn’t hear the Cathedral bells ringing every 15 minutes or the bars next door. We slept better than we had in a while. The room had air conditioning, a wardrobe, drawers, bedside tables, and lamps. The free Wi-Fi was very fast. Breakfast was included, with fresh pastries, cakes, cereal, frittata, salami, cheese, juice, water, coffee, and several kinds of tea. The kind, polite woman working there offered us a cappuccino each morning. My Italian isn’t great, and she spoke a little English, so we managed without any problems. Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy, and it always smelled fresh. There’s a communal lounge and outdoor seating area that both looked inviting, though we didn’t use them because we were visiting family and friends. I’d absolutely recommend staying here in Larino’s old town, with its many bars, some restaurants, and plenty of places for coffee, gelato, or pizza. The San Pardo Festival in May is a must. I can’t thank the staff enough. Ten stars from us!
