Terrazza con Vista Grande

That place belongs in a horror movie. There’s one nice thing, the view; the rest is filthy, with cobwebs everywhere. The beds are old and uncomfortable, the kitchen can’t be used, and the very old pots and pans are scratched and greasy. The rooms are full of clothes and rags, so before anyone enters that house, which isn’t a B&B, they should hang a sign saying, “Abandon all hope, ye who enter.” It might be worth 5 euros a day if you had any guts. Breakfast was discount store food, and some Brioscos were past their expiration date. Someone sat on the couch in front of the TV from morning till night, with Holy Masses, rosaries, and prayers playing. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND it. Spend your money somewhere else!

Our host welcomed us warmly and spoke French, and he gave us useful information about places to visit. The room was spacious, with a view of the terrace and Lake Maggiore, and the bathroom was well-equipped. It was good value for money given the prices around the lake. The room was easy to find, and the ferry was easy to get to.

The owner’s house was super shabby, and staying in a room there ruined our weekend. The smell was unbearable. Luckily, none of us are allergic to dust, but the sheets were stained and had lint left by previous guests. A storm came through overnight and the shutters rattled, like something out of a horror movie. Then came breakfast: a boxed croissant and a jug of juice, thankfully. We wouldn’t have known what to do if he’d made something himself. An unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons. I’ll file a complaint with booking.com too!

I can’t recommend this place. I booked a month ahead, but the owner called me the day before the booking to say the neighbor’s bathroom had broken, making the apartment uninhabitable. That left me without anywhere to sleep. He didn’t even apologize or help me find another solution. I don’t recommend it.
