The pools and playgrounds were the big highlights, and the campsite is great for families with children. The mini club staff were friendly, and there’s a restaurant by the pool serving delicious pizzas at fair prices. Great value for money.

We came with our big family because the kids love caravan holidays, and we had high hopes, but they were dashed pretty quickly. I don’t know whether it was because we were English, but things were fine on the first night until we went to the restaurant near the pool. We asked to split the bill and were told no. Then we asked to have the salad left off a burger and were told no again. The bar restaurant at the top of the park was lovely. On Sunday, our last day, the weather was nice, so we went to the pool. We were told glass bottles weren’t allowed near the pool, which was fair enough, so we sat at the pool restaurant instead. A man from behind the bar came over and asked if we were ordering food. We said no, that we had to sit there to drink our beer outside the pool area. He told us it wasn’t a picnic area and we’d have to find somewhere else. My little boy, who has autism, was with me. I found the staff the rudest people I’ve ever met. Other people were sitting there with nothing, but when we asked for the staff members’ names, they refused. It felt like they didn’t want to accommodate us because we’re English, and it felt racist. Stay away, and go to the restaurant at the top near the lake.

We planned to stay for a few days at Camping Lido but ended up being there for almost three weeks, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a neat, well-maintained campsite, though large, with all the amenities, including a restaurant, swimming pool, water park, good restrooms, and even a small fitness room. My one suggestion is to clean the restrooms at least twice a day.

The pitches are large and spacious, but I won’t return because of the hygiene and awkward facilities. Toilets are cleaned in the morning, yet by midday they look untouched for days: toilet paper on the floor, brown smears on the walls, and crusted, dried feces under several lids. With no urinals, urine pools in front of every toilet and leaves a strong, unpleasant smell. You’d be better off bringing your own toilet. Fresh water refilling and toilet cassette emptying happen at the same place outside the campsite. There’s no visible separation between the drinking water tap and the hose for rinsing toilets, which is very unhygienic. Grey water emptying is outside too. From noon until after sunset, loud animation programs run.

The location is fantastic for visiting the Lake Garda area, and the facilities look recently updated and were usually pretty clean. The pool and slides were great fun for the kids, while the restaurant and bar had a nice range of choices and the evening entertainment was enjoyable. We’ve just come back after a week at Camping Lido and had a great time. A couple of things could be better: WiFi was patchy across the park, and the pool and bar staff could improve their customer service. It often felt like serving you was an inconvenience. The kitchen staff smoking area could also be moved somewhere out of sight, away from the store cupboard facing the restaurant.
