The problems started at dinner. The food was fantastic but quite expensive, and the staff did little to make the meal welcoming: nobody checked on us, and dirty cutlery was dropped on me without an apology. Maybe our casual clothes didn't meet their pretentious standards, though we've eaten in much nicer places. When we arrived, the staff were pleasant and a new employee showed us to the room. After a long walk to Bardolino and back the next day, we tried the spa. It was cold and crowded, the jacuzzi water smelled dirty, and we were shocked to see naked people hanging around the sauna with no warning. It felt seedy, unhygienic, and at odds with the advertised high-end experience. It also didn't feel family-friendly. That evening, the restaurant manager asked whether we had a reservation. We didn't, and nobody had told us at check-in that one was needed. We were told there was no room, and they might fit us in, but couldn't promise. With no other places within walking distance, that was appalling. In all my years traveling and dining, I've never been turned away by a hotel. The bar had also run out of every red wine by the glass except the most expensive one. Their stock shortage shouldn't mean I have to pay more. We managed to order Deliveroo, but I wonder what older or less tech-savvy guests are meant to do, go hungry? The customer service was appalling. The room cleaning was poor too. There were old soap bars in the shower and cobwebs on the ceiling; housekeeping didn't replace the coffee or milk, and the toilet paper was poor quality and supplied stingily. This isn't the service we expect. We won't return or recommend it. There are hundreds of other options around.

The pool area was probably the best part of my trip. It had separate sections for families and adults, so it was easy to relax there. Getting taxis to and from the hotel could be tricky, especially late at night, when some drivers were reluctant to make the return trip. It’s better to plan transport ahead. The suite was the highlight of the rooms I stayed in: spacious and well equipped, with its own living room, an extra room, and the main bedroom. I was told its large private balcony was the only one of its kind in the hotel. At around $550 a night it was pricey, though I found the comfort and space worth it. The regular rooms were nice too, but some had showers that didn't drain properly. The hotel let me use the next room's shower until mine was fixed. The staff made the stay special. Benedetta was one of the kindest, most helpful hospitality workers I've met, always going out of her way with a smile. Guilia at reception was welcoming and consistently helpful, and Louiji brought lovely energy to dinner service. I can't remember the Russian-speaking massage therapist's name, but her massage was amazing and her skills were top notch. The food was just okay, not a trip highlight, though Louiji made dining a pleasure.

The scenery is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are friendly. We had a really difficult trip because of the strike, so our first stop was the spa for a massage. The atmosphere there was peaceful and relaxing. A special thanks to Liliana and Nejia for their professional work.

This was our fourth visit, and we spent three lovely days here with my wife after getting a room upgrade. Everything was top notch, from breakfast and the room to the facilities. The service is a must, too, with great people at reception, at breakfast, and in the wellness and spa areas. Keep it up, folks!

We came with our two dogs, and the hotel made them feel welcome. They even upgraded us to a roomy, clean space that was properly set up for a comfortable stay with pets. It's clear they care about their furry guests as well as the people. The staff were helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and both large pools were clean and well looked after. We also had a fantastic, relaxing massage from Liliana, who was very professional. I highly recommend the place and would gladly return.
