Last Minute Lecce

The apartment is roomy, recently renovated, and looks onto an internal courtyard. The beds were comfortable, and the large bathroom had a great shower. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully equipped, right down to a proper hairdryer and power strips by the beds for charging. They quietly checked and tidied the room twice a day. The managers were discreet, kind, and very welcoming, even though we checked in late. We had a generous sweet breakfast with delicious pasticciotti. The location is excellent, in my opinion as someone who has lived in Lecce. The somewhat “ethnic” street is quiet, and Porta Rudiae is only 100 meters away. From there, it’s a pleasant 10-minute walk straight along the main road to Piazza S. Oronzo, across practically the whole center. Parking was easy to find within 100 meters of the door. I’m so happy we stayed here. The price I paid was beyond belief, and the space, practical details, and attention to detail made it truly excellent value for money.

We’ll be back. We were really pleased with the affordable price, fresh pastries at breakfast, and owners who were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, with bathrooms that made for a good night’s rest. It’s near the historic center and about 10 minutes from the train station. A good start and finish point for the Salento bike tour, too, with somewhere safe to keep the bikes overnight.

There’s no garage, but the location is strategic, close to the historic center and useful places like a nearby pharmacy. The superior room had an en suite bathroom and all the comforts, and the property also has a large loggia with armchairs and tables for relaxing or having aperitifs. It’s a modern, refined bed and breakfast, sanitized in line with anti-Covid-19 regulations. The owner was kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Getting to Porta Rudiae is easy, and once through it you’re right in Lecce’s historic center. The pharmacy downstairs is handy too. The place feels welcoming, the room was well kept, and breakfast was good. Just bear in mind there are stairs.
